Mildred Cody Duncan Lucree

Savannah- Mildred Cody Duncan Lucree, 92, passed away May 11, 2011.
She was a lifelong resident of Savannah. As a charter member of St. Francis of the Island Episcopal Church, she was on the Alter Guild for over fifteen years. Known as the "Coffee Lady", she made coffee for the early service for over twenty years. She retired from K-Mart after 21 years of service. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, church, friends, and flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Vereen and Arthur Cody; her husbands, Andrew John Duncan, Sr. and William Ollie Lucree, Sr.; three brothers, Earl Cody, The Reverend Arthur Cody, and Grover Cody, and one sister, Ruby Kennedy.
Survivors include three children, Andrew J. Duncan, Jr. of Savannah, Arthur Cody Duncan Jeanette of Savannah, and Mildred "Millie" McRae Freddie of Rincon; sister, Doris Forton of Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at St. Francis of the Island Episcopal Church.
Burial will take place in Bonaventure Cemetery where she will be carried to her final resting place by her four grandsons, Cody Duncan, Jr., Danny Hall, Ryan Duncan, Dr. Andrew Duncan, and the four eldest great-grandsons, Keith Grover, Joseph Whitaker, Christopher Duncan and Josh Wise.

Please accept my condolences at your time of sorrow. I have had the pleasure of knowing her since my brother married her lovely daughter. I worked with Mrs. Lucree and Mr. Lucree at Union Camp several years.
